JASPAL SINGH

Founder and Chief Mobility Officer

An entrepreneur and investor, Jaspal Singh has 18+ years of experience in mobility, smart cities, and technology space.

He is the Founder and Chief Mobility Officer of Mobility Innovation Lab (MIL) and host of Mobility Innovators Podcast. MIL is a global platform that connects stakeholders in transportation, smart cities, and cleantech space.

  He is also working as Senior Director – Membership and Global Operations of UITP (International Association of Public Transport) and lead a global team of 30+ colleagues across 16 cities. He focuses on expanding and strengthening UITP global networks and advancing sustainable mobility.

He is also Principal of Valoriser Consultants Inc., a management consulting firm, serving various international clients on strategy and business planning.

In past, he worked with Uber India’s early team to navigate the regulatory challenges and build partnerships.

Also, He co-founded his first venture, The Other Home (i.e. Airbnb for India), which scaled up from zero to 2,000 properties in India.

He is also working with startups in North America and Asia as an advisor, mentor, and investor. He is also advising entrepreneurs at different incubators and accelerators including Startbootcamp, Guil Chile, Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC), and The Forum. He has invested in around 15 startups through AngelList and VC syndicate.

Jaspal is an avid traveler and traveled to around 50+ countries around the world and counting.

Rikesh Shah is the Head of Innovation Procurement Empowerment Centre at Connected Places Catapult. Previously, he was Open Innovation and Open Data Expert at PA Consulting. Prior to that, he was the Head of Commercial Innovation at Transport for London (TfL) and has worked in urban mobility for the last 20 years. He championed the organization’s award-winning market innovation activity to create new value for London by working with start-ups, corporates, academia, accelerators, and venture capitalists. He was responsible for creating TfL’s first Innovation Hub. The Hub sets out the organization’s key problem statements, bringing in the best innovators from across the world, piloting and scaling innovative solutions with the potential to commercialize, as well as establishing the right culture in the company focusing on agility and design thinking to work with market innovators who either have a new mobility product or an innovative idea to help solve existing city challenges through new technologies.
Rikesh was previously responsible for TfL’s world-leading open data program which has 17,000 registered users, 700 apps powered by TfL data used by 42% of Londoners which an independent review stated that it’s worth to London is £130m per annum. Most recently, Rikesh has been recognized in the Top 100 Asian Stars in UK Tech, being named one of the top five for sustainability. Rikesh also sits on the Smart London Board to deliver the Mayor of London’s vision to make London the smartest city in the world, as well as a Non-Executive Director at the London Transport Museum on the Enterprise Board on the Advisory Boards for Nitrous and Citytech Collaborative in Chicago. Dheeraj Bhardwaj

As a Group CEO for City Group Co., Kuwait, Dheeraj is leading the transformation agenda of the passenger transport/ mobility sector in Kuwait with a focus on digital innovations and green initiatives. Prior to this, he was co-founder and CEO of Arnab Mobility based in the UAE. Unique blend of experience ranging from intense R&D, and technology start-ups to large corporates and Strategy Consulting. Advised and consulted for a number of Government departments and businesses in the UK, India, and Middle East on Strategy, Innovation, and Technology implementations.

Played a major role in the development of India’s Supercomputer PARAM and mission-critical applications, instrumental in transforming the construction industry in the UK and the Middle East, developed Innovation Strategy for $25 bn Crossrail project in London and award-winning “Dubai Innovation Index”. As a digital & innovation consulting lead of PwC, Dheeraj has developed a number of strategies for Road and Transport Authority in the Middle East such as the Innovation Strategy, Marine PPP model, Automated Fare Collection (AFC) Strategy.

Dheeraj holds a PhD in Computing Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and an MBA from Imperial College London, UK. Published c.50 research papers in reputed journals. Recipient of two Young Scientist Awards from the Government of India for his innovations and was invited to present his Innovations at NASA, USA.
